1932
ABC launches in the same year as the Australian Broadcasting Commission (as it was then known) goes to air for the first time. Sydney Harbour Bridge opens.
1957
CAB distribution audits commence. Jorn Utzon's Opera House design wins competition. Slim Dusty's “Pub With No Beer” goes gold.
1994
ABC adopts calendar year reporting. Alexander Downer becomes leader of the opposition. Australia adopts eight-digit phone numbers.
1995
Exhibition audit service launched. John Howard becomes leader of the opposition. Telecom Australia rebrands as “Telstra”
2002
Email newsletter auditing service launched. Steven Bradbury wins Australia's first Winter Olympic Gamesgold medal in 1,000m men's short track speed skating. Kath & Kim debuts.
2005
CAB digital edition reporting introduced. Andrew McGahan's novel The White Earth wins the Miles Franklin Award.
2006
ABC quarterly reporting with comprehensive breakdown of sales by type introduced. WorkChoices enacted. Kevin Rudd becomes leader of the opposition.
2009
New CAB print audits debut, featuring additional reporting, breakdown of bulk distribution. Digital publication audits launch. Australia escapes the global financial crisis without entering a “technical recession.”
2011
ABC launches new Print Audit Rules & the CAB reviews the Exhibition Audit Reporting Standard and relaunches updated standards & pricing. Google launches Google+.
2012
ABC launches new Digital Audit Rules. The 2012 Summer Olympics open in London; more than 10,000 athletes from 205 countries participate in the Games.
2013
ABC and CAB members vote to form the Audited Media Association of Australia (AMAA), one unified organisation looking after the interests of media providers, agencies and advertisers. Pope Benedict XVI announces his retirement, becoming the first pope to do so since 1415.
2015
New CAB ePublication auditing successfully launched, allowing free and controlled publications to report on unique readers of digital editions. USA legalises same sex marriage.
2016
Multi-Platform Report available to publishers with more than one audit service to showcase reach across multi channels in a single report.
